Das offizielle Battletech-Forum ist wieder online.
Nachdem es seit mehreren Wochen down war, ist es nun wieder verfügbar und wirkt, auf den ersten Blick, stabil.
Warten wir es ab, ob es das bleibt. Falls es mehr Informationen geben sollte, reiche ich sie nach.
UPDATE
Das Forum wird nächste Woche ein größeres Update bekommen und gleichzeitig auf einen neuen Server umgezogen werden. (Quelle) Joshua (Knightmare) hat gestern (23.4.) ein Backup der Datenbank ziehen können und wird versuchen, das am 30.4. auch nochmal zu machen. Aber aufgrund der Probleme mit dem Server, übernimmt er keine Garantien, dass das auch klappt.
Das heißt aber auch, ihr müsst jetzt nicht panisch Daten vom Forum sichern. Alles, was bisher da war, ist auch weiterhin da.
Wie schnell der Umzugsprozess genau vonstatten gehen wird kann er nicht vorhersagen. Geschätzt sind 5 – 7 Werktage. Bereiten wir uns also einfach mal darauf vor, dass das Forum vom 1.5. – 11.5. down sein wird. Wenn es schneller geht, können wir uns dann freuen.
Das Forum wird seit 2011 geflickt und läuft seit 2019 auf eigentlich ausrangierter Software. Es ist viel zu tun und es ist besser, es ordentlich zu machen als einen Schnellschuss hinzulegen, der dann wieder neue Probleme macht. Immer besser ein Mal richtig.

Welcome back to the forums!
In light of the recent downtime and the current state of the forum, we’re going to upgrade and migrate the forum to a new home. Please note that any posts created after today can’t be guaranteed to make the jump—though all effort will be made to do so. I’ve already made the necessary backups while I know the server is holding up. If I can tempt fate again, I will do so.
The actual process of moving will start next week. I’ll be locking the forum 30 April, Wednesday morning 10am EST to begin the move.
All necessary data has already been backed up, including files, avatars, attachments, etc. Don’t scramble to copy stuff, that’s already been done. The estimated changeover timeline hasn’t been determined just yet, as the final migration decisions are being made right now, but expect anywhere from 5-7 business days while the forum is repaired, upgraded, tested, and new features implemented. If it’s going to take a day or two longer I’ll communicate the date change through our discord and other social media channels. Keep in mind that this forum’s been successively patched since 2011 and running on depreciated software since 2019, so there is a lot to do.
For any guests reading this message who haven’t been able to create a forum account, replace a lost password, or access the forum in general, please know that this migration will correct those issues, and I encourage those readers to attempt another fix once the forum is back up and running.
If anyone has any questions or concerns, please post them in the forum tech section. I’ll have the Admins collect and forward the questions, which I’ll endeavor to bulk answer for posting either here or on CGL’s discord server (if the forum’s already locked), and battletech.com website.
